Alluvial Fans - fan shaped landforms created by deposits of minerals carried down desert mountains through dried streams by occasional flash floods caused by the few times it actually rains
Desert Mountains - mountains by a desert Arroyos - Dried creeks/stream that can create small, hewn canyons in the desert landscape. Mesas - elevated are of land with a flat top and sides that are steep cliffs caused by constant wind erosion and sometimes from water. Buttes - small mounds of rocks that have been carved rather sharply with wind (basically a isolated hill that's steep) Dunes - windswept piles of sand, occur in different shapes and sizes Oasis - a fertile area of vegetation and water in a desert, typically near a spring. Playas - dry lake beds or a desert basin with no outlet and its filled with water underneath. |
